This morning, I had a great opportunity to participate in a focus group with the idahostatesman. We [a good cross section of local professionals with diverse backgrounds] discussed how we stay up-to-date with the news. I personally shared how I get my news through social media, where I make sure to click on the idahostatesman story when it's in my Facebook newsfeed. I also use IG and follow influencers who share what's going on locally , like #HelloMeridian. I don't have cable (I stream everything), so I don't watch local newscasts. During this meeting, it was enlightening to hear how peers obtain their news. I had no clue idahostatesman had an app, or went Live on Facebook a few weeks back. When I first move to a new location like Boise, I have a habit of finding the community events section in the local paper. It's a standard "life checklist" whenever I'm in a new city.
