w/this little girl, Pumyra this morning 😽😘 // Wanted to share something that's been on my mind this holiday season... Although you may think it's sweet, giving a pet as a present is NOT a good idea. Volunteering at a shelter, one of the saddest things we see is when a pet gets adopted, only to be returned to a shelter (and essentially a small cage) a short time later. Unfortunately this happens often when living animals are gifted ...and when the receiver is not ready/doesn't want a pet. The best way to gift someone a pet on the holidays is to go to the shelter TOGETHER and choose the correct pet for this person TOGETHER - seeing that this person is perfectly ready to take on the responsibility of a living, breathing, loving animal. An even better option - gift them pet supplies!: toys, food, litter, treats, etc. Remember - animals are a massive responsibility and deserve a home where the humans can provide shelter, food/water, TIME and of course endless love.
