Matrix Open is proud to present their 2018 production "Unsteady". Featuring music from X Ambassadors, Linkin Park, and Logic, "Unsteady" tackles the topic of growing rates of depression and teen suicide in America. Highly inspired by the song "1-800-273-8255" (the national suicide hotline), by Logic, Matrix Open focuses not only on the statics and emotions involved with depression and suicide but more importantly the message that none of us are alone in those moments of despair. "After hearing the song 1-800-273-8255, I was very drawn to the idea of a show addressing not only teen suicide but more importantly the means for help in that moment of despair and depression. As I began to research the topic I came across data about teen suicide rates over the past 10 years and when I saw the statistic that 20% of all high school students say they have considered suicide I knew we had to do this show.
