Congratulations to MMI Tiger XC student-athlete Kalliauna Powers who has been accepted into both the West Point & Merchant Marine Academy!! Kalliauna came onboard with us two days before the first Cross Country Meet last Fall. She was new to Cross Country, yet managed to drop her 5k time down by over 4 minutes from the first meet to the last meet of the year. Kalliauna competed in Track & Field in high school and was an outstanding Triple Jump/Long Jump threat on the runway. She did very well transitioning into the distance world and will no doubt be a very athletic, hardworking edition to whichever Military branch she chooses to pursue. Kalliauna does intend to dust off the Jump spikes and compete collegiately in Track & Field with the Academy she chooses to attend!
