“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage.” The MMI Gaelic Club sadly said goodbye to two great members last night on the Ireland Study Abroad trip. Kaliegh O’Connor and Elizabeth Harris both wanted very much to go to Ireland this summer with the club, but there was a slight fear that the trip would be too taxing leading up to both young ladies heading to military academies this summer for “basic” training—with time changes, travel fatigue, injury risks and possible training interruptions. But, with teary eyes, both young ladies said again and again how glad they were to come and that they made the best decision, even if their time was shortened by 3 weeks. Their calculated risk paid off ten-fold, with both ladies growing exponentially on the trip, physically, mentally and emotionally.
