Today, former MMI baseball player Jonah Todd '16 was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 6th round of the 2017 MLB Draft! He just completed a stellar season starting as a WALK-ON at center field & lead-off batter for the Auburn Tigers, where he led the team in hitting (.376 avg) and finished with 13 doubles, five triples and 37 RBIs. In May, he earned All-SEC Second Team and Defensive Team honors. Originally from Birmingport, AL (near Bessemer), he started his baseball career pitching for Oak Grove High School before he was recruited by MMI Head Coach Matt Downs, a former MLB player. This past Sunday, he threw out the first pitch at the Birmingham Barons game.
