The cadets on the MMI Ireland study abroad trip have had an incredible first week in Ireland, kicking off a 5.5 week journey! From the first day, they were immersed in the culture and language, spending the night in a Gaeltacht (where Irish is spoken first and English second) near Galway. They listened to stories from old timers and the cadets were excited to be able to use their Irish. From there, it has been a whirlwind of events, from the Aran Islands and ancient ruins, to art galleries, music sessions, Gaelic football clinics, Gothic churches, cliffside hikes and—of course—class! They have all settled into Glencolmcille very well and the ones who attended last year were actually welcomed back by the locals. Can't wait to see how the adventure evolves!
