Spotlight on award winning performer jessthndr This is Jessabelle in her own words:⁣ ⁣ Hi there, I’m Jessabelle Thunder-a burlesque performer from Los Angeles. I began my burlesque career in 2010 and have performed with Dita, and all over the world.⁣ ⁣ These 10 years in burlesque have been quite a journey and a huge discovery of self. I’ve learned to love the skin I’m in. The Black skin I’m in. And with that being said, I want to pass that feeling onto other women of colour. Growing up, I lacked Black role models, not because there weren’t any, but because Black people weren’t often pushed to the forefront. Sadly, the same thing can be found in the burlesque community. However, there are many people out there changing that, and I hope to be one of those people some day, through producing my own shows, having my own company that books Black burlesque talent, pushing Black bodies forward in any way I can.
