#Reglam sanchezzalba ・・・ TODAY'S DATE: On this date in 1993, Russian physicist and engineer Lev Sergeyevich Termen (known as Léon Theremin in the West) passed away in Moscow at 97 years of age, after a long improbable life of invention, espionage, and intrigue (for all the details of his unbelievable biography, see the engrossing documentary "Theremin: An Electronic Odyssey"). But Termen's best known invention the eponymous "Theremin", a very early electronic musical instrument developed in 1920, lives on with virtuoso Thereminist Armen Ra armenra, seen here tutoring Dita Von Teese ditavonteese on the magical instrument (it's played without touching, but rather by the hand's proximity to it's two antennae).
