Day four of Spring Officials Appreciation Week sees the spotlight turn to #GSCotf official Sylterica Bynum! Q: What made you decide to become a track & field official? A: I decided to become a Track Official because it’s my Favorite Sport! Being a Middle School, Jr. High School and High School runner myself made it an easy decision to Officiate! I love the Sport so much that I can sit at a Track Meet all Day! Q: What is your favorite part about being an official? A: My favorite part about being an Official is witnessing the athletes excel from one track meet to the next meet and meeting a PR Goal that they may have set for themselves! It brings me great joy to see the smiles on their faces and the joy in their hearts. Often times it’s not about winning but unexpectedly doing something that you didn’t ever think you could do.
