Kessler Scholars made the most of their Spring Break with a visit to to Ghana. Some highlights included a trip to trashybagsafrica where they make upcycled eco-friendly bags from discarded drinking water sachets, making chocolate kaminichocolate, and visits to Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm to learn about the history of cocoa and Ghana, and the aburibotanicalgarden. Kessler Scholars also met with faculty and students at Cornell’s global hub at the University of Ghana. Meant to immerse first-generation students in a short, study abroad experience, these trips help empower and grow Kessler Scholars’ interest in future study abroad opportunities.
