One of the most challenging tasks can be learning to live in the present moment. We live in a world where we’re constantly told to prepare for the next thing, and not to dwell because we may miss out. Sometimes life’s fast pace can take a toll on our mental health if we don’t slow down enough to fully devote our energy to what is directly in front of us. It might even create some anxiety because sometimes we may feel like we just can’t keep up. So this weeks message, is to be present. Soak in the sounds and sights of the current moment, and don’t let your attention drift on to the next one until you have given whatever the present situation requires. Being present can mean making an effort to focus on one task at a time, or it can be applied in a other contexts- like learning to separate your attention from work when you’ve set aside leisure time.
