Rosa Louise McCauley Parks was a civil rights activist particularly remembered for her leadership role in the Montgomery Bus Boycott.  So what's the story?⁠ ⁠ On December 1st, 1955, Rosa Parks boarded a Montgomery Alabama bus after a long day at work. She sat in the fifth row of the "Colored Section", as the seating was segregated at the time. Laws at the time dictated that African Americans were required to give up their seats to White passengers and move to the back of the bus in instances where seating was nearing its capacity. ⁠ ⁠ The bus driver James Blake ordered Parks and several other Black riders to move to the rear of the bus, but she refused. ⁠ ⁠ "Are you going to stand up?" the driver demanded. Rosa Parks looked straight at him and said: "No." Flustered, and not quite sure what to do, Blake retorted, "Well, I'm going to have you arrested."
