We are focusing on the Maize and Blue in this week’s #WalkonWednesday, most specifically with now espn Monday Night Football analyst Brian Griese! Griese walked-on at umichfootball in 1993, and after redshirting that first year, had to wait until midway through the 1995 season for his chance. Griese had an up-and-down 1996 campaign, but ended it as the official starter after helping the Wolverines to the outbackbowl. Griese remained the starter in 1997, and this is the year it all came together for him. In 1997, Griese led umichfootball to an undefeated season and a share of the Naitonal Championship. Griese was named as the MVP of the 1998 rosebowlgame in their victory over wsucougarfb. Overall, Griese had a 17–5 record as a starter in his umichfootball career. Most importantly for Michigan fans, the Wolverines won all three games against ohiostatefb in which he quarterbacked.
