Repost from gloriabanks • Today I am thinking about all of the Black women who played a major role in the advancement of abolition movement in the 1800’s.  Women like Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman and many more fought tirelessly for justice and freedom for African Americans. And we can see the same thing happening today. Though the signing of the emancipation proclamation was two years earlier, slaves in Galveston Texas were notified of their freedom on June 19, 1865. Today as we celebrate, let’s remember these black women/matriarchs and support the new generation of women who have taken the torch and are also resolute in the fight for justice and freedom. 💚💚💚 Thankful that these times have brought an awareness. #HappyJunteenth #GloNation
