Most inspiring thing happened to me on morning run. First off, I set out to run 8 miles to catch up on my goal of 100 miles this month but as weather and sand conditions were so awesome today I accidentally ran 5.57 miles out. I turned around right then but thought of running over 11 was daunting. However, on the way back, a 4 year old boy threw a shovelful of wet sand and hit my leg. His mortified parents started scolding him. I said it's ok. I knelt in front of the boy and said, "Wow, little dude you are awesome! You just hit a moving target. That's not easy to do and YOU did it! I pick YOU on my team!" I gave him a big high five. What he gave to me next was
#inspiration. He started clapping and jumping up and down! His parents thanked me and I ran off with the wet sand on my leg. That image stayed with me the whole way home and I began running faster. The last mile was brutal... not going to lie... but the sand on my leg made me determined to hit my target too. Thanks little dude! ...
