ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Elymus "ELI" Schaffer schaff_skate Eli is a second generation Ice Cross racer having his first start in 2016. Eli has climbed the ranks of the junior category claiming the 10th spot in the world last season. During the off season he works out and inline skates to train for the upcoming season. Eli decided to leave the stick out of hockey and use his skating skills to compete in Ice Cross, claiming "he wasn't very good with the puck." Eli is currently a student at Iowa State University studying Electrical Engineering. He is a baseball player and a runner during the warm season. When not is school or training, the mountains and outdoors call his name. On a clear night you will see him gazing up at the stars.
