September is polycystic ovary syndrome (commonly known as PCOS) awareness month. PCOS affects approximately 1 in 10 women, it is a condition which affects a woman’s hormone levels, and it can be hard to properly diagnose since each woman can display different symptoms. The hormone imbalance can cause a woman to have irregular periods, and many women don’t find out they have it until they’re trying to conceive. Any diagnosis can be stressful and daunting - but education and empowerment is so important when it comes to your health! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Jess is open about some of the heartbreaking realities of PCOS and also some of the touching lessons it has taught her. “What I didn’t know was that you were also going to teach me to REALLY understand my body as a woman.
