One of the rare players to enter the JSBL as a high schooler and continue to play as as NBA player where he would lead RKE Athletic to the 1st undefeated season in 1996, John Crotty was full of nostalgia when he received news of his selection to the “55”. As the Miami Heat television analyst, he was busy preparing to call an NBA Finals game against the Denver Nuggets, but he still spoke to us for nearly an hour about his memories of the JSBL. While it was not feasible for him to come all the way up from Florida for the JSBL ceremony, we are grateful that his father who still lives in Spring Lake, was able to accept the honor on John’s behalf. Crotty’s time in the JSBL will be remembered fondly by our staff and his many fans. #JSBL #JSBLhoops
