My wife and I have been regular attenders of Opendoor Church since January of 2014. Before we found Opendoor, I never attended church and was baptized when I was born, but never understood the meaning. Opendoor really spoke to me in a way that I could understand yet something was still missing. To me it felt like I was just “going through the motions” without being baptized. Yes, I come to church every Sunday. Yes, I tithe every month. Yes, I serve at church. Yes, I read the Bible. Even after all that I felt I was missing something, and the thing missing was making the choice to publicly identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It was also a way for me to wash away my old life of sin and start my new life in Jesus Christ. It helped me to wash away all the shame, guilt, and hateful feelings I had inside. It has allowed me to lay my troubles at His feet because I know that if He can die for me and be resurrected 3 days later that He can handle anything I give Him! • •...
