My mental health always takes a hit when I’m dealing with an injury. And that was true this summer when I fractured my foot at USAs. But then last week I realized, “Wow, I’m actually in such a good spot mentally right now… I am having so much fun working out and I wake up excited for the challenges of the day.”
I cannot emphasize enough how amazing that is.
I finally got cleared to run today (YAY) but I’ve working hard (except for rest days when I truly recover) and feel like I’m making process and getting more fit and strong every week.
I guess I just wanna share that to encourage my other injured runners out there to find things (whether that’s swimming, cycling, yoga, boxing, painting, cooking, whatever!) that make you feel GOOD. It is 100% possible to not run AND be happy.
Lots of gratitude for these two dudes helping me get to this place: tricoachgreg
