This inner monologue plays out in my head whenever I get injured… Sure, cross training can be a great tool to maintain fitness AND maintain sanity. BUT I know I’ve been guilty of over-using cross training or even just doing it for the wrong reason. Am I cross training because it will make me better at my sport or because I’m afraid of gaining weight while recovering from injury? Honestly, it’s probably been a bit of both. Lately I’ve been changing my mindset and tactics around cross training. I still do it, but not the 2-3 hours per day I’ve done with past injuries. I refuse to use it as punishment (working out should never be punishment!) and I keep it to an hour per day max. Hope this makes you laugh a little and helps some of my fellow type A cross training athletes see it from another perspective 😊 #dontdoit #angelvsdevil #crosstraining
