This morning I listened to Chapter 7 of lolojones’ audiobook, Get Over it, entitled “An Inspiration.” While I am not a religious woman, a lot of what Lolo had to say about what she prayed for before the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 really resonated with me. Lolo talked about how she prays before and after races but that she does not pray for a win, realizing there are 7 other women in the race and if everyone is praying to win, how is God supposed to choose a favorite? In 2008 Lolo realized that at the Olympic Games, with millions of people watching, likely gave her the biggest platform she would ever have and she prayed that she could be an ✨ INSPIRATION ✨ to those watching her compete (and hopefully win).
