It’s been 3 years now and the #fastbraidfriday movement has taken on a life of its own! I love getting asked about the meaning behind it all in interviews. Even if you didn’t ask, I’m gonna tell ya the how and the why... HOW it started: I’ve been braiding my hair for as long as I’ve been an athlete. My mom taught me when I was young and eventually I become the “team braider” on my high school xc/track team and then continued that role in college. Then back in 2017 I posted a lil selfie of my french braid saying “is french braid Friday a thing? Because it should be.” And people agreed! It should! And they started posting pics too... #frenchbraidfriday turned into #fastbraidfriday to be inclusive of all kinds of braids and braid styles that make us feel FAST! 🏃🏼‍♀️ WHY does it matter?
