Something I’m grateful for today that I longed for in the past: a healthy and strong body that is able to do the work I ask if it every day. In 2019 I averaged 57 miles per week with many weeks being at 0-10 miles due to injury and plenty of weeks at 80+ miles frantically trying to make up for lost time. Let me tell you, I didn’t have fun training like that at all. And it wasn’t productive either. I was barely healthy enough to toe the line at USAs and I had to drop out of World Champs due to injury. After that year I vowed to myself to figure out my injury issues. I’m proud to say that in 2020 I averaged 68 miles per week and only took a total of 21 days off the entire year (including 7 days off at the end of the season by choice)!!! I am so proud of the progress I’ve made in the last year and am determined to keep it going in 2021.
