My best advice for high schoolers might surprise you, but... do less! And enjoy it more! My dad was my coach in high school and he always made sure I was having fun and keeping it light (while putting in hard work). You know who else has FUN and keeps it light while working HARD?? My girl, robinnyc!! My favorite it when Robin puts us through a killer interval on the Peloton and then says “straighten your crown, put it back on, let’s get it!” The joy she has when she’s on the bike is palpable and that’s why I know she will have a long career and avoid the burnout that I mention in this excerpt.
