Racing to break records tonight, but we’ve got an even bigger mission on our minds (and hearts). The athletes of the bowermantc want to show our belief in the fact that Black Lives Matter. We want to use our last 2 meets of the season to raise funds and awareness for The Equal Justice Initiative, a great organization that is working to protect basic human rights for the most vulnerable in our country by providing legal representation. If you haven’t seen and/or read “Just Mercy,” now is the time. I recommend the audiobook because Bryan Stevenson, the author and founder of EJI, reads his own words about how and why he started the organization and I found it extremely impactful.
The bowermantc is going for American (and even World) Records in the men’s and women’s 4x1500 tonight.
