Anybody else feel a little off-kilter and out of rhythm with your body and mind? Maybe it’s because you’re out of your normal daily routine. Routine makes me feel more in control of my life, organized, and productive. So what do you do when your routine of going to work or school gets taken away? Make your own! When I became a professional athlete I suddenly had so much time on my hands and not a lot to do, which left me feeling unfulfilled and scattered. I’ve learned that creating a routine for myself makes me feel more centered. Here’s my advice: Create a routine that works for you, write it down, and then stick to it every day. •Workout at the same time. I like to workout in the morning, so I knock that out first thing and then leave myself time in the afternoon for other non-running projects. •Eat your meals around the same time.
