May I suggest some hills? ⛰
My squad has been doing more base work these last couple weeks which resembles the type of training we do in the fall when we still have months until we will get to race (seems like might be the case now). It’s also been raining for a week straight with no end in sight, which definitely resembles fall training in Portland. 🌧🌧🌧🌧
I love hills because while they have a good sting to them, they’re pretty short AND can be a great way to build strength and speed without spiking up. When I feel sore the next day I know it worked! 🏃🏼♀️💪🏻
Here’s a good place to start: Find a medium grade hill where if you run hard up you can go for 30-60 seconds. The recovery is an easy jog back down to the start. Make sure to get a good warmup in!
Try 5 x 30sec, then 5 x 60sec, and finish with 5 x 30sec. Let’s go!
Fast braids are optional. 😉
