Runners do this cool thing where we race our guts out against our competitors but then when we cross the finish line we turn and high-five or hug those who crossed the line either before or after us, recognizing the effort that the other runners put in for weeks, months, and years leading up to that point. There’s a level of respect for those out in the battlefield with you.
