4:22 for 2nd place last night at the
#NYRRMillroseGames in the Wanamaker mile with my girl fastkate. Never feels good to lose, but my body felt strong and healthy and that does feel good.
Last weekend I wasn’t sure I’d even be able to make it to the starting line for this prestigious meet. When you are training at such a high intensity level like my team does, you’re always on the edge of injury. Less than 2 weeks into our altitude camp this past month I starting having serious pain in my right foot after a workout. 2 weeks later the pain wouldn’t go away and I had an MRI. The result said I had a stress reaction on the 2nd metatarsal, an injury I’ve had before. We decided to pull back on workouts, tape my foot, not wear spikes, and let pain dictate how much training I could handle leading up to this race. Cue more mermaiding! 🧜🏼♀️
