Best known locally as the sculptor of the lions on the bridge at Mariners' Park, Anna Hyatt Huntington was admired for her remarkably realistic sculptures of animals. The artist enjoyed a thriving career producing both small-scale sculptures as well as monumental public works, a pursuit undertaken by very few women of her day.
