Over 100 Penn State students and community members took back the night by sharing and listening to stories of sexual and domestic violence in front of the Pattee and Paterno Library Thursday night. The annual event, which is hosted by Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. with the support of Centre Safe and the Gender Equity Center, works to spread awareness about sexual violence and provides survivors with a space to share their stories. For Larra Lopez, president of Lambda Theta Alpha and co-chair of the event, this event is important. “This event opens up a space for survivors of sexual and domestic violence to take that time to tell their story and to share it,” Lopez, a third-year studying psychology, said. “It allows them to feel like they are heard, seen and believed.” Read more about the event at the link in our bio. 📰: Louise Bennett 📸: k8onfilmm #pennstate #pennstatenews #studentjournalism #studentnews #pennstateuniversity #sexualassaultawareness #takebackthenight
