This is not gonna be the glamorous post you may have hoped for today. We, as humans, have a duty to respect the world around us. It provides us food, shelter, and gives us life. Instead of respecting it we exploit it for its resources, destroying everything that can be monetized. We need to respect more than our planet, we need to respect each other and all of our differences and similarities. Culture is something that gives us different perspectives on the world. Here in Myanmar I realized that there are so many people that would rather climb a pagoda or ride an elephant to get an Instagram photo than be present in the moment and respectfully enjoy all the beauty this country has to offer. To my fellow #sassp19 family (and everyone else), let’s not be the basic tourists just to get some likes on a photo when you know that what you are doing is wrong.
