HAPPY NATIONAL ALOPECIA AWARENESS MONTH!! When I was 11 years old I was diagnosed with stress induced alopecia. Alopecia is an autoimmune disorder that causes the immune system to attack my hair follicles. Basically, the more stressed I get, the more I lose my hair. When I was 12 and 13 years old my stress became so bad that I was about 99% bald. People would tell me not to stress, but how are you not supposed to stress when you’re losing your hair?!?!😂 When I was about 14 years old, everything started looking up. I was sick and tired of being self conscious and I began to be much more open about it to the world. To my surprise, as my self confidence grew, so did my hair!! Now I can proudly say there’s hair on every single part of my head :)) But the fact that I have hair now doesn’t make me more beautiful than I was before; pure beauty comes from within.
