We thought spas were supposed to be relaxing....? These Japanese macaque monkeys are known to enjoy hot spring spas, but their interest in them didn't come naturally. Property development in the 1950s forced these monkeys out of their habitats and into towns and communities filled with people. Legend has it that one macaque jumped into a hot spring to chase after an apple, only to be found relaxing in the warm waters.
