Texas is home to hundreds of species, including the Texas blind salamander. Found in the water-filled caves of Edwards Aquifer near the town of San Marcos, the species has two black dots underneath its skin. And while it does not see its prey, the Texas blind salamander can find shrimp, snails and other creatures by sensing changes to water pressure waves.
