The turquoise-browed motmot is a strikingly beautiful predatory bird native to the jungles of central America. Unlike most bird species, where only males have elaborate physical traits, the turquoise-browed motmot expresses the beautiful racketed tail in both sexes. Research shows that males with a longer tail have greater chances of finding a mate. Both sexes however will wag their tails in the presence of a predator to alert the predator they they will not likely be caught!
