The Marsh Pride male called Askari (meaning watchman or guard) at dawn. Seeing a male lion with his voluminous mane at dawn is one of Africa's most magnificent sights. Everyone on safari wants to see a male lion like Askari. He was about 6 to 7 years old and in superb condition.
