I’m so thankful to be sharing our Wildlife Warrior’s story through this Instagram #takeover. It is wonderful to work together with Animal Planet to achieve so much for wildlife conservation all over the world. Here at Australia Zoo we work tirelessly to protect native animals at our Wildlife Hospital. Of all our conservation projects, this is the one closest to my heart. The Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital was opened in memory of Lyn Irwin, my grandmother. As a wildlife career, she was passionate about protecting injured wildlife. Lyn died just before my second birthday and when she passed my dad and mum were determined to create a world-class facility that could provide care for native Australian wildlife in need. Each year our rescue unit and hospital team rehabilitates thousands of sick, injured and orphaned wildlife, to release them safely back into the wild.
