The Spiders went 1-2 in the 2023 Collegiate Trail Running National Championship held in Strouds Run State Park in Athens, Ohio. Stuart Terrill emerged as the national champion with Spider teammate, Jordan Bendura placing in the runner-up position. From the start, the Spider standout Terrill, accompanied by his teammate Bendura, took the lead, setting an impressive pace as they charged through the single-track trail. By the 2-mile mark, they had established an astonishing one-minute lead over their competitors. With a crushing last half of the race, Terrill crossed the finish line in a crowd jaw-dropping time of 41:26, obliterating the previous course record by nearly 3 1/2 minutes and claiming the well-deserved title of the 2023 Collegiate Trail Running National Champion.
