HOF inductee Edwin Koech (Kenya) placed 6th in the 1984 Olympic Games 800M in Los Angeles leading the race until the very end. Koech was a member of the 1984 Kenyan National Olympic Team. He competed in the finals of the 800M in L.A., finishing sixth with a time of 1:44.86. Throughout his years at Richmond, he was a four-time NCAA All-American, two-time NCAA national champion and a member of the 1982 NCAA championship 2-mile relay and World Indoor Record setting team. Koech competed at the 1984 Games with 1983 Richmond grad Sosthenes Bitok.

Teammate and HOF member, McKeon was the Most Valuable Track Athlete in 1985. He was a two-time Division I All-American in the 1000 yard run and the 1500 meter run.
