eighteen visions // fort worth, tx // 2017 Leica M6 // 28mm Elmarit ASPH // Tri-X // @indiefilmlab Everyone always talks about how shooting film changes your approach to photography, and I’m 99% certain if I had been shooting Eighteen Vision’s set with my 5D and not my Leica, the photos would look completely different and the vibe of the photos would have been completely lost. Crazy low-light performance is cool, but adapting to shoot in a dark club with a roll of Tri-X and two lenses that are f/2 and f/2.8 at fastest, I think, is a bit cooler. Silhouettes, the motion blur you get from having to slow down your shutter speed, heaps of contrast from pushing your film like crazy; the feel is different, the approach is different, the photos are completely different.
