lynn gunn // pvris // charlotte, nc // vans warped tour 2015 Since PVRIS will be hitting national TV tonight on Jimmy Kimmel, thought I'd throw it back to another image of them from Warped this summer. If I recall, this was Charlotte, NC. I seem to get asked a bit of why I shoot images like these and some of my hockey stuff on a big, clunky, slow medium format camera. It all really started when I photographed Saosin the first time and realized with a decent amount of anticipation and practice, I could make it work and do something just a bit different than the 5 (or more) other photogs standing with me in the photo pit. From there, I got more film cameras, more practice, found a couple of systems I loved (Pentax 67, Leica M) and kept trying and working at it. And now here I am. My favorite images seem to be shot on film, and the digital images I like are heavily influenced by the shooting habits I've made through using film cameras. Being more methodical, waiting for the right moment...
