We're #MedStarHealthProud to recognize Irene Raj, Lab Scientist in our Blood Bank at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, as a Difference Maker for helping save the life of a patient who required mass transfusions. 🩸 On a regular Sunday afternoon, Irene was working in the blood bank and suddenly received non-stop, ongoing requests for units of blood for a patient with a severe injury. She stayed on top of the quickly moving requests and became an integral part of the ED Team keeping the patient alive.
