Had a wonderful long weekend in… West Virginia! I first visited wvtourism in June on a whirlwind road trip. I could spend a lot more time here, I kept thinking. The winding country roads. The friendly people. Laid back vibes. And the endless outdoor recreation. It’s all very… me. I think about writing and travel as “merging with everything”. And on these trips I am always attempting to flatten the edge between who I am and where I am. But I don’t have to try so hard here. Actually, I don’t have to try at all. It just feels right. I sat on this rock all alone a few hours after arriving and closed my eyes. Felt the air. Heard the water. I’m so happy to be here. To be surrounded by this landscape. To feel this peace.
