Did you know there are over 400 National Park sites? Monuments, historic sites, lakeshores, preserves, on and on. But just 60 majors with the name “National Park”. Those are the ones I’m tracking. The ones in my book. Not that other places aren’t worth going to or tracking, they’re just not part of this specific goal. ⁣ ⁣ This is the latest site to experience a name change to National Park, and I have mixed feelings. You see, of the 60 parks on my list, I’ve actually been to this one the most. Before I went to any others. I went to my first concert here as a kid (Willie Nelson), and came here with my family and visitors all the time (we lived in the metro). ⁣ ⁣ So while this is a beautiful and important place, it has a different meaning for me. It’s unlike the other parks in many physical ways, but also personal ways. It’s not a solo adventure for me. It’s a reminder of my family and friends. It’s nostalgic. And I’m happy to be back.
