Did you know it's National Strawberry Day? And National Retro Day? I did. :) . . Because I celebrate them all. I write them on the board in my classroom every day, and it's the first things kids notice when I forget. Because it's fun. Because strawberries, and lemons, and fairy tales, and dogs, and sisters, and pizza, and all of the other things that now have a national day are worth celebrating. Life is worth celebrating. Every day. . . Especially at school! School -- for most kids -- is terrible. Especially middle school. Especially when you have to worry about violence. On top of your grades, your parents, bullies, and your Snapchat. It's a heavy environment -- especially lately. . . So why not make it fun? Celebrate strawberries. Maybe wear them?
