Situated on a hill between the two valleys of rivers, Campli is a charming town in the heart of the hills of Teramo in the Abruzzo region of central Italy. It is located in the natural park known as the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park. Campli is an enchanting protected city of where history and culture, tradition and religious worship uniquely come together. The historic center of Campli offers memorable examples of Medieval and Renaissance architecture. You will find homemade ricotta cheese and the local salami spread, Ventricina Teramana, all over town. Campli is most famous for its Church of San Paolo and being the site of the “Scala Santa” or Holy Staircase - inspired by the Holy Stairs in Rome and is known as a place of worship for Roman Catholics.
