We built the bus in late 2019, a few month later the great Kobe left us. We unanimously decided to dedicate the bus to his legacy. We wanted to inspire the NBA to change the logo, ruthlesscreationz striped the bus purple and painted the mural on the roof. We spent the week riding around staples center and hanging purple and gold nets at courts across the city. The response was incredible, and with an upcoming trip to CHI for All Star Weekend we realized there was no better way to honor Kobe’s legacy then a Kobe pilgrimage across America. We had no clue if the bus could make it. It had literally been sitting in the desert for 10 years before that. There wasn’t any of the modern comforts of the current builds, no insulation in the walls driving through 15 degree middle America.
